soul mates.
i know it’s from eat pray love but it’s one of my favorite excerpts from a book i’ve read….
“What’s got you all wadded up?” he drawls, toothpick in mouth, as usual. “Don’t ask,” I say, but then I start talking and tell him every bit of it, concluding with, “And worst of all, I can’t stop obsessing over David. I thought I was...

my daily happiness
miranda and i share our graces with each other each day, it’s a way to remember the small things for which we are thankful…we both fell behind in the past few days and here’s what she had to say about that…
“I’m behind, and even tho it’s been a shitty few days, I thought I’d send some graces—makes sense anyway, since the point of these graces...

this just made me feel so happy!
Yet it reminded me right then of a brief love affair, the kind you have when you are about to move from a familiar place to somewhere new, and you begin a romance with a built-in expiration. And when the time comes for the affair to end, you are sad but grateful because having had someone who understood you perfectly in that moment helps you to walk into the uncertain night and toward that unknown...

“As I get older, there’s this new realisation and it’s almost like a relief, and that is that I can never be who I once was, but only who I want to become: a nice old lady.” —Devendra Banhart
sage wisdom from jamie oliver
He dressed the salad, which he filled with fresh herbs, tossing it with his hands. Then he threw frozen peas into the pan with the pancetta. Two women who work for him moved in and out of the kitchen, talking on cellphones. “The key to life is to surround yourself with lots of women,” Oliver said. “Men would just lie to me. Girls say, ‘Give me half an hour and I’ll find out.’ They’re intelligent,...
